A YEAR IN CASEY COUNTY

This was a juried show, displayed at Bunjil Place Library, Melbourne, Australia as part of the 2018 Casey Art Spaces Program and later at the Mechanics Institute Library, Melbourne, Australia.

Artist Statement

I moved to Berwick, Casey County in September 2016, a suburb I now call home. This is the story of my first year as told in (a few) words and drawings. It is a record of my personal observations and experiences (both good and bad) while settling into a new neighbourhood on returning to live in Melbourne, Australia after 45 years abroad. 

The drawings in these self-made concertina sketchbooks have been recreated from on-location sketches in my sketchbooks, my own photos and from life.
